Roger & Gallet
Roger & Gallet has been recognized in France and throughout the world since 1862 as the premier manufacturer of high quality soaps and fragrances. By 1864 Roger & Gallet was already supplier to Napoleon III; and her Majesty Queen Victoria had made the young company her official purveyor of soaps. Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II also commissioned Roger & Gallet, recognizing, again, the unsurpassed quality and beauty of the line.
Roger & Gallet is a line that has weathered over the past 130 years the innumerable changes in taste, trends and technology. The secret is simple: Roger & Gallet is a beautiful line of soap.
Beautiful in the quality of the ingredients, beautiful in its design, beautiful in its tradition.
The Roger & Gallet soap is based on natural, refined products and essences which respect the greatest traditions of the past. The soaps contain no synthetic detergents, and the raw materials used are very close in nature to the skin itself.
Due to its specific 88 / 12 formulation (88% long fatty acid and 12% short fatty acids) Roger & Gallet soap does not dry the skin. Its long fatty acids ensure the highest degree of skin compatibility while maintaining the soaps' cleansing powers.
Roger & Gallet soaps last far longer: how, is a well kept secret. This special manufacturing technique has been closely guarded for over a century.
The fragrances are derived from rich and varied natural essences that come from far and wide: "Bergamot from Calabria, Sandalwood from Mysore, Rose concrete, Vetyver from Java to name but a few." One of the unique "secrets" of Roger & Gallet is that the essences are blended into the paste once they are cooled, to ensure that the soap keeps the authentic fragrance intact. The fragrance now penetrates into the very heart of the soap.
The round shape, which is both aesthetically pure and highly practical, is an integral part of the personality of Roger & Gallet soap, whose seal is stamped on each soap.
In the parlance of the last century, "the "packaging girl" can then delicately wrap pleated tissue paper round the soap and slip on a coloured decorative band suggestive of the fragrance, and finally place it all into a pack with matching motifs."
The prestige of a famous name is recognized in the world as the most beautiful soap. A Roger & Gallet soap is one of the simple luxuries you can enjoy every day in your own bathing ritual, or that you can take pride in giving as gift.
